CA RESTAURANT FOUNDATION California shines at National ProStart Invitational
California students made their mark at the National ProStart Invitational this weekend in Baltimore, finishing in the top five nationwide. Orange County School of the Arts earned 4th place in the Management Competition with their restaurant concept Funtastical, centered on board games and connection. San Dimas High School took 4th place in the Culinary Competition with a standout three-course menu featuring duck breast and truffle risotto. In addition to national recognition, all students received significant college scholarships. Congratulations to these future industry leaders!

CA RESTAURANT FOUNDATION All-access tours for 500 Students
In April, 500 ProStart students stepped out of the classroom and into the industry for Experience Hospitality, hosted by the California Restaurant Foundation. Through exclusive, all-access tours of 25 venues across the state, from Golden 1 Center in Sacramento to Urban Plates in San Diego, students gained a firsthand look at careers in hospitality. Students also joined interactive workshops led by U.S. Bank volunteers, building small business skills like understanding operating budgets. It’s just one of the ways we’re helping shape the next generation of restaurant leaders.

From April 24 to May 3, Santa Barbara Restaurant Week offers 10 days of dining, with perfect weather to enjoy it. Proceeds will benefit ProStart®, a culinary arts and hospitality program supported by the California Restaurant Association Foundation, impacting over 13,500 students in 140 California high schools, including San Marcos High School. ProStart® provides valuable hands-on restaurant experience.
