The CRA, along with many of our members, supports the Dignity Act as a practical, bipartisan solution to strengthen and stabilize the restaurant workforce. The legislation would provide pathways to legal status for Dreamers and long-term workers while modernizing employment verification protections for responsible employers. With workforce shortages continuing to challenge restaurants across California and the nation, supporting policies that retain experienced employees is critical to the future of our industry. We encourage restaurant operators to make their voices heard and urge Congress to support the Dignity Act.

The episode provides practical steps for restaurant leaders to protect their teams and businesses.

The settlement still requires additional review before final approval. Merchant groups say they expect significant opposition during that process, signaling the case and the broader fight over swipe fees remain far from settled.
