We've identified several new laws that will take effect in the new year - the drastic improvement of local building permit processes; new allergen labelling requirements for chain restaurants and expanded obligations for businesses offering gift cards. The increased availability of alcohol licenses in select counties, and extended covid-era "right-to-return" protections for restaurant employees at certain airports, convention centers, and hotels are also coming in 2026...along with much more. Over 200 restaurant leaders and Wells Fargo volunteers came together to help ProStart students get job-ready and money-smart, preparing them for their first jobs and paychecks. The interactive training hosted at 55 high schools included mock interviews, elevator pitches, and a practical first paycheck budgeting exercise.
