BREAKING NEWS DIRECTV will continue to stream Sunday Ticket to restaurants & bars
DIRECTV and EverPass have reached a multiyear agreement that will allow DIRECTV for Business to continue distributing the NFL Sunday Ticket to bars, restaurants, and other businesses.
Why does this matter for our industry? This is great news for thousands of restaurants and bars across California that rely on DirecTV to stream games that bring guests. Without this deal, these businesses faced choosing between skipping NFL Sunday Ticket games or investing up to $40k in new equipment that might not be reliable in every market. They also would have needed additional subscriptions to stream other games.
Your voice made a difference. The CRA joined the National Restaurant Association and other restaurant associations across the country in urging the parties to reach a solution that protected hospitality businesses. Thank you to Jim, our partners at the NRA, and everyone who spoke on this issue. When the restaurant industry speaks with one voice, it makes a difference.
What’s next? While we’re still waiting for the full details of the agreement, this is a meaningful step forward for our industry. As more information becomes available, the CRA will keep members informed. This outcome reminds us of what’s possible when our industry speaks with one voice. Your membership makes that advocacy possible. If you know a restaurant operator who isn’t yet a CRA member, encourage them to join us as we continue working to protect, promote, and strengthen California’s restaurant industry.
