California's legislature is back in session, and a critical vote is approaching.
The restaurant community, non-profits, and other employer groups worked to achieve the biggest legal reform in decades by significantly altering the state's Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) in 2024.
With your help, we killed efforts in 2025 to undermine these sensible legal reforms — and we need your help to do it once more.
SB 310 (Wiener) will likely generate a flurry of frivolous lawsuits, creating a new pathway for trial attorneys to exploit penalties as leverage in meritless cases.
SB 310 will soon face a vote on the Senate Floor.
We need you to help amplify our work in the State Capitol by using our user-friendly tool to send your lawmaker a quick note asking them to vote "NO" on SB 310.

SB 1053 updates California's bag laws effective January 1, 2026. It redefines single-use carryout bags, raises recycled-content standards, and ends the certification process for reusable bags. These changes mainly affect stores, not restaurants, though some local agencies require restaurants to comply with single-use bag rules.
