Jot Condie, President and CEO of the California Restaurant Association, said, “There is a lot of uncertainty about federal immigration policies, instilling fear in immigrant communities, whether or not they have legal status, and, in some cases, it is having a chilling effect on restaurants’ team members and guest traffic.”

CALIFORNIA RESTAURANT FOUNDATION Students bring the heat in the first-ever CA Almonds Throwdown
The California Restaurant Foundation hosted the first-ever “CA Almonds Throwdown”, where ProStart students wowed judges from the Almond Board of California with inventive almond dishes. Competitions were held at The Culinary Institute of America in Napa and Cal Poly Pomona. Winning dishes included an almond pad Thai, almond blackberry tart, and almond empanadas. The state champion will be announced during the CA ProStart Cup in March.
