ALL CRA Webinars: From Allergen Safety Laws to the WARN Act, and keeping your business updated on anniversary dates like Workplace Violence. REMEMBER: CRA members get one 15-minute legal advice call per month.
Menu Labelling (SB 68): Requires chain restaurants subject to federal menu labeling laws to disclose the presence of any of the 9 top allergens on physical menus or digitally, with additional written, non-digital disclosures beginning July 1, 2026. (more information to come)
New EFT Requirements for Alcohol Payments (AB 2991): Beginning January 1, 2026, a new California law (AB 2991) will change how alcohol payments are handled between licensed retailers (restaurants, bars, hotels) and wholesalers. Under this law, all alcohol transactions must be completed via electronic funds transfer (EFT), effectively ending the use of checks, cash, or money orders for these purchases.
Cal-WARN Notices (SB 617): The WARN Act requires employers to give 60 days’ notice before a mass layoff, plant closure, or relocation. In addition, employers must notify employees and both state and local representatives. This helps workers prepare for job loss, find new jobs, or train for new opportunities. This new law adds important content and coordination requirements for employers conducting mass layoffs, relocations, or terminations in California.
